There’s been a significant amount of research done on how personality affects work behaviors, such as job satisfaction or leadership. Less study has been done on personality and parenting behaviors, although some studies exist. While writing my chapter on Identity for Managing Motherhood, I came across some interesting connections between the Big Five personality dimensions and the parenting behaviors of warmth, structure, and autonomy control.
